TREATMENT APPROACH TO CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
For children and teens, mental health can have marked impact on social, emotional and academic development. With this in mind, Dr. Rosen focuses on improving your child's functioning as quickly as possible. Therapy is focused on learning coping skills and problem solving around challenging behaviors. Dr. Rosen believes in a collaborative approach to treating your child. She will work closely with parents, school, outside therapist and others involved in your child's life to make sure that the skills learned in therapy are applied in real life. Parents must be actively involved in treatment and often meet separately with Dr. Rosen to discuss emerging concerns. Dr. Rosen will not over-medicate or over diagnose. She is a conservative and thoughtful psychiatrist who will take the time to get to know your child and family well.
