ATTENTION-DEFICIT/ HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD/ ADD)
ADHD is a life-long disorder. When untreated, ADHD symptoms can impact a child’s academic performance, social development and create a tremendous amount of stress for families. Children are often mislabeled as lazy or manipulative, but with the proper supports at home and school, they can excel and accomplish amazing things.
Adults with ADHD may struggle at work, have difficulty maintaining relationships and may struggle to obtain appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Rosen is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist specializing in diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children and adults. Treatment options include medication, organizational skills and therapy.
Dr. Rosen offers a comprehensive evaluation for the diagnosis of ADHD. She will meet with your child, collect relevant history from parents and teachers, and synthesize this information to make the appropriate diagnosis. She will work closely with family to create behavioral interventions at home, and will advocate with the school to ensure appropriate accommodations are made.
Dr. Rosen is also skilled in diagnosing ADHD in adults. For a variety of reasons, ADHD can often go undiagnosed in childhood, but seeking treatment can be life changing for adults. Dr. Rosen performs a careful clinical assessment of symptoms to diagnose and treat adult ADHD.
