COMPREHENSIVE BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION FOR TICS (CBIT)
CBIT is the first line treatment for tics. CBIT aims to make tics more manageable. CBIT is an evidence based treatment that reduces severity of tics in children, teens and adults. CBIT has three components:
1. Training the patient to be more aware of tics
2. Training the patient to complete a competing behavior when he or she feels the urge to tic
3. Making changes to daily routines and activities in ways that can help reduce tics.
Dr. Rosen is a trained CBIT therapist. She can work with you or your child over the course of approximately 10-12 sessions to reduce tics and improve quality of life. Dr. Rosen offers CBIT at her office on the Upper East Side, and also offers virtual visits.
